Housekeeping / Cleaning Assistant – Home for Elderly – £23k + excellent benefits
This is an opportunity for a Housekeeping / Cleaning Assistant to join this amazing private care home / village for the elderly. You will be working in the Infirmary, where residents have their own rooms or shared wards. This is a well known institute with royal connections, offering a village setting in vast grounds and facilities to its residents, which include vast gardens, cafe, restaurants, bar, gym, etc. The Housekeeping Assisting is responsible for ensuring that his/her area of responsibility is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, whilst being empathetic and understanding towards the pensioners and working in a safe, professional and friendly manner.
£23k + Excellent benefits
The post involves working 5 days out of 7 so will include weekends on a rolling rota basis and there are 2 shifts: 7am-3pm and 11am-7pm.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
The duties involved are to maintain a clean and healthy living environment in both Pensioner living environments and other designated areas.
Clean all floor areas and carpets in main walkways and communal areas
Ablution areas, shower rooms, tea points, sinks, floors and working surfaces to be cleaned twice daily.
The general cleaning of designated Wards, ensuring that: Water jugs and beakers are kept clean and jugs filled with clean fresh water, Locker tops and bed tables are cleaned daily or more often if required
The floors of all rooms on the Ward are to be cleaned daily, vacuumed, mopped or polished as required depending on the surface
All furniture and beds are to be kept dust free and all cupboards and shelves are to be kept clean
All wash basins, other sanitary ware, walls and glass panels are to be kept clean and free of hand marks etc. Bed poles and lamps are to be dusted daily, and beds are to be moved and areas cleaned every other day
All ward furniture to be kept clean and polished
Assist with meal service to Infirmary Residents
The cleaning of the Ward Dining Areas and setting up for the next meal.
The daily exchange of sheets and bedding from accommodation rooms and other domestic linens with the Infirmary Storekeeper on a “dirty for clean” on a one for one basis.
The collection and collating of In Pensioners personal laundry weekly. Noting any deficiencies on return.
To have experience in a similar role as a Housekeeping / Cleaning Assistant, within a care home, hospital, hotel, or similar.
The ability to carry out the duties using flexibility, initiative, co-operation and with the minimum of supervision
To have a friendly, professional and empathetic manner
To be reliable and punctual
Able to work the shifts and days as detailed.
