Teacher – SEN – KS3 – £26k to £34k, depending on experience – Hastings – Permanent.

This is new purpose-built school. Which will offer a wide-ranging of specialist facilities for their young people. It is looking for a Teacher with SEN experience. The school is for neuro-diverse children, offering a stimulating, inspiring and nurturing environment.

This school has recently has been taken over by a supportive trust, with a new Headteacher and is wanting to ensure the team build an excellent hands-on approach. To delivering an exciting, high quality and creative curriculum designed to meet their specific learning styles and interests.

SALARY ETC:

£26,000 to £34,000, depending on experience.
Hours of work 8:00am / 8.30am to 4:00pm, although you will often finish at 3:30pm.

Permanent, 52-week contract.
Hastings, East Sussex.
8 pupils to a class, with 1 teacher and 2 TAs, with 1-day a week on an out of class.

REQUIREMENTS:

DFE recognised Qualified Teacher Status.
Ideally 5+ years of experience but would consider less for the right person.
Evidence of training relating to the education of children with Special Needs.
Exposure to teaching strategies appropriate to children with Special Educational Needs.
Knowledge of the current legislative framework within which teachers operate.
Understanding of ASD/SEMH issues.
Insight into the emotional social and behavioural development of the children.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE:

Carry out the core duties of a Teacher.
Including the co-ordination of a primary class/KS3 nurture class or a curriculum subject area.
Use pupil data to co-ordinate strategies to improve attainment.
Evaluation of curriculum developments to ensure all pupils are accessing opportunities.
Co-ordinate, review and develop the curriculum plans for a primary class/ KS3 nurture class.
Prepare and monitor a development plan.
Complying with and assisting with the development of policies and procedures.
Delivering out of school learning activities within guidelines established by the school.
Contribute to the whole school development plan, taking responsibility for agreed areas.
